Frequently asked questions
Subscriptions
How does a subscription work?
Build a box from our coffees, chocolate and bread, and choose how often each item comes: every week, every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks. Coffee comes in 12oz bags, up to 4 bags of each coffee per delivery. You're billed on each delivery, not up front.
When does my subscription start?
Subscriptions start on a Sunday so each charge lines up with our Monday roast. By default that's the next Sunday; you can also pick a later Sunday at checkout. Your card isn't charged until your start date.
Can I mix different schedules in one box?
Yes. Each item keeps its own schedule, so you could get one coffee weekly and another every 4 weeks.
Delivery
How much is delivery?
Delivery is a flat $9, no matter how many bags are in it. Items on schedules that line up share one delivery and one fee: an every-2-weeks or every-4-weeks item rides along with a weekly delivery, and an every-4-weeks item rides along with an every-2-weeks one. Your box shows the delivery fee before you check out.
Gifts
Can I give a subscription as a gift?
Yes. Tick "This is a gift" in your box and choose 3 months, 6 months or 1 year, with an optional message. Enter the recipient's address at checkout. Your card is billed on each delivery, and the gift stops on its own when it ends.
Managing your subscription
How do I pause, cancel or update my card or address?
Go to Manage my subscription and enter your email; we'll send you a sign-in link. From there you can pause and resume, cancel, update your card, change your address and see your invoices.
What happens while my subscription is paused?
Nothing ships and you aren't charged. Your schedule doesn't move: when you resume, deliveries pick up on the next scheduled date.
Can I see my past orders?
Yes. Manage my subscription lists your recent subscription deliveries and shop orders, and whether each one is still being prepared or has shipped.
Shop
Can I buy something without subscribing?
Yes. The shop sells coffee, chocolate, bread, equipment and merchandise as one-time orders.
How do shop orders get to me?
Choose delivery for a flat $9, or pick up your order for free at Davis Street Espresso. You can add a note to your order at checkout.
Flavor clock
What is the flavor clock?
It's how we describe each coffee at a glance: tangy coffees sit near 12 o'clock, sweet near 4 and savory near 8, and the number shows where a coffee falls between them. You'll see it on each coffee, or try it on the flavor clock page.
